Tāngata Whaiora

Within the SSWT pilot we aim to deliver a service that respects and honours the different backgrounds, worldviews, and cultural needs of all participants across Aotearoa, New Zealand.

We recognise that everyone brings with them a unique life experience, and we are committed to tailoring our service to meet the needs of each individual and their worldview.

Our Bi-Cultural Focus

We are a bicultural service, with clinicians and therapy approaches that honour the Treaty of Waitangi.

Our holistic therapy approach allows space to explore and incorporate the different aspects that may contribute to your health and wellbeing as Māori, and the wellbeing of your whānau.

Ultimately, we are committed to creating a therapeutic space that respects your unique worldview, whatever that may be, and we want to ensure you feel understood and supported during your time with us.
We have Māori team members working closely with clinicians to support them providing a culturally responsive service, and we invite you to share with us the things you need to feel safe and comfortable when seeking support through SSWT (e.g., bringing a support person or involving a kaumātua in our sessions together).
